Ambassor 'Manford' Duct Tape Project:
I was unable to find a male dress form to use for the Ambassor Trench coats, so I decided to make my own. With help from Leanna Studios (http://www.leanna.com/DuctTapeDouble/) I was able to craft one of my own using duct tape. I believe this is the first duct tape model of a male. All of the ones I have seen through Leanna's site have been for women. I have elected to call this dress model 'Manford' for this reason. Manford may now have all the lady duct tape dress forms to choose from for a date. For you ladies: Manford is 5'9 with a 32 inch waist and 42 inch chest. He likes hanging around sewing rooms and scaring people walk upon him. He hates dog fur and extreme heat. Although he appears stuck up, hes really quite relaxed and has been known to hang out occasionally (mostly because he can detach and hang up on a closet by his neck hook)
With the help of the only friend that would stop wrapping tape when he got to my neck, Tom was able to fashion a nice stand. Manford can be removed from his stand. He also has a 'tube in a tube' design which allows me to adjust his height like a folding telescope. He can be hung up in a closet when not in use from his neck hook.
Here, you can see me sporting a light and wonderful summer dress, complete with retro 60's sci-fi adornments. Since everyone else that has completed similar projects has done this in extreme heat, I felt right at home doing this in 90 degree weather. Being a fairly hairy fellow, you can imagine the idea of me in duct tape was rather unsettling. The sleeping position of my dogs indicate that they are used to my silly hairbrained ideas and are quite at ease with their guardian being wrapped in duct tape. (Pardon the mess, The house is usually cleaner.)
No German Shepherds were harmed in the making of this dress form.
Here, you can see my assistant Tom violaing my dress form. We spent considerable time making sure the shoulders were properly padded to accomodate the weight of Manford.
Manford receives the 4 bags of polyfill stuffing he deserves, while my dog Newton awaits stuffing at a later time by a taxidermist. (Just kidding, he's sleeping)
Here, we can see Manford, proudly displaying an Ambassor Saegen trench coat. This coat is the tightest fitting coat I make, which requires very exact measurements. Manford fit the bill nicely and is able to properly fit in it. Newton looks on. Remember, manford's arms are folded back, i wanted his chest to poke out to assure I have plenty of room in the jacket, thats why it looks a little 'poofy' in that area.
Tom proudly affirms the completion of the Manford Project
Me and Manford. Time for a drink on the town!
