Ambassor Imperium Trenchcoat has now been completed. day 3 was from hell. I put the coat together but broke 4 needles. 3 sewing and 1 serger needle. the fleece made the coat almost an inch thick of solid material and my sewing machine bobbin was from hell but I got it done!
Dont mind the chalk, it hasn't been cleaned yet.
Well, here it is. I kept dabbling with new ideas with this coat and it was really fun to work with until I tried putting it together :) I dont like fleece very much :) Anyway, The sleeves sport unique bands of fabric that are not attached . They freely hang and move independantly of the sleeve. Its very neat, they appear to like to rest above and below my elbow and sag. It gives a 3d appearance.
Here is a nice shot of the duster. It is sewn into the collar and rests nicely over the shoulders. I REALLY like this wool and will probably use it as the default fabric. You can see how the bands appear on my sleeves in this picture very nicely. When my arm is in it, it looks VERY cool in my opionion. I didnt want to sew stripes on the coat. the design for the sleeves was inspired from watching Star Wars Episode 1. The ViceRoy wore this costume that had 'vents' on the sleeves. (Holes where you could see fabric through it) I thought it was cool, and was going to replicated it, however, I didnt have enough fabric so I opted for this. I'm glad I did. The Ambassor Imperium has a very dominate appearance.
Again, you can see the bands, and the back of the duster. No, the duster is not crooked, the duster is not sewn on the whole jacket. It is free to move about. I opted for a simple vent in the back of the trenchcoat.
I am very proud of how the Ambassor Imperium turned out and will be very excited when I start on the leather version of this trenchcoat. If you have any questions or opinions about this trenchcoat please let me know! ambassor@ambassor.com
